Day 08: Jaipur – Ranthambhore

Enjoy an enchanting jeep ride from Jaipur to Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan, India. Where on arrival you check in at a hotel for dinner and overnight stay. Sawai Madhopur is famous for the Ranthambore National Park that is well known for its tiger population apart from being a natural home to panthers, nilgai, sambar and other animal and bird species.
Besides exploring wild undergrowths and jungle pools where animals congregate, you may also enjoy tours to fort and temple ruins that have tales to tell.
Ranthambore History: Govinda, the grandson of Prithviraj Chauhan dominated Ranthambore in the 13th century A.D. His successor Vagabhatta built a temple at Jhain. The Ranthambore Fort was annexed by the brave Rana Kumbha and was gifted to his son. Later the fort was conquered by Hada Rajputs of Bundi. In the later years the region was gifted by Mughal Emperor Shah Alam to Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh I of Jaipur. Since then Ranthambore remained as the hunting preserve of the Maharaja.

Day 09 : Ranthambhore
Day 09 of the India Wildlife Tour Itinerary is when you set out on thrilling wildlife safaris to the forests of Ranthambore.
Ranthambhore Tiger Reserve: Ranthambore Tiger Reserve encompasses within its boundaries the Keladevi Sanctuary and Sawai Mansingh Sanctuary.
The Ranthambore National Park lies at the junction of the Aravalli hills and the Vindhyas. It is spread over undulating topography, varying from gentle to steep slopes; flat-topped hills (Indala, Doodh-Bhat and Chiroli) of the Vindhyas to conical hillocks and sharp ridges of the Aravallis.
Jungle Safari: There are about 42 tigers in Ranthambore National Park. A good network of gravel tracks crisscross the park and safaris are undertaken in open-sided jeeps driven by ranger.
